Lost or stolen beacons

If you have lost your beacon or it has been stolen, the registration needs to be updated.

If your beacon is lost:

  • If you have an account on our new website, please log in here to update.
    Once logged in, go in to the beacon on your list and click Remove. From there, select Lost from the drop down menu, provide any details in the comment box and click Remove now.
  • If you haven't created an account on our new website yet, you can email us at contact.beacons@maritimenz.govt.nz.
    In your email please provide the UIN/HEX ID off the beacon and any further details.

If you do locate your lost beacon, log back in to your account and add the beacon so you can reinstate your registration.
If you don't have an account, please create one here first and then reinstate your registration

If we are notified that is has activated or been found we will be in touch.

If your beacon is stolen:

  • You will need to report this to your local Police.
  • If you have an account on our new website, please log in here to update.
    Once logged in, go in to the beacon on your list and click Remove. From there, select Stolen from the drop down menu, provide the Police File Reference Number in the comment box and click Remove now.

  • If you haven't created an account on our new website yet, you can email us at contact.beacons@maritimenz.govt.nz.
    In your email please provide the UIN/HEX ID off the beacon and the Police File Reference Number.

We are unable to remotely activate or locate your beacon.
